Lindsay LohanClick on the images for enlarged view Brief biography of Lindsay Lohan Lindsay Dee Lohan (Lohan, Lindsay Morgan), American actress and pop music singer, was born on July 2, 1986 in the Bronx and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island. Lohan attended public schools on Long Island and finished her studies at home through Laurel Springs School of Ojai, California. She is the eldest daughter of Donata Sullivan and Michael Douglas Lohan Sr. Lohan has three younger siblings, brother Michael Jr. appeared with her in The Parent Trap; sister Aliana had a small role in Freaky Friday, and youngest brother Dakota. Lohan began her career as a child fashion model for magazine advertisements and TV commercials. At age 10, she began her acting career in a soap opera; at 11 she made her motion picture debut in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap in which director Nancy Meyers cast her to play the dual roles of the estranged twin sisters (as Hallie Parker / Annie James, main role). She starred in two original television movies, Life-Size (in 2000 with Tyra Banks) and Get a Clue (as Lexy Gold, TV film by Disney Channel Original Movie, 2002). In 2001 she hosted the ABC-TV commercial series commemorating Walt Disney's 100th birthday during a rebroadcast of The Parent Trap. Lohan won a lead role in Freaky Friday, a Disney remake (as Anna Coleman, main role, 2003), starring Jamie Lee Curtis. She starred in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (as Mary Elizabeth "Lola" Steppe, main role) and Paramount’s Mean Girls (as Cady Heron, main role), both released in 2004. Lohan completed filming the Emilio Estevez film, Bobby (as Diane Huber, supporting role), opposite Elijah Wood, in December 2005. Herbie: Fully Loaded featured her as Margaret "Maggie" Peyton (main role). Just My Luck (as Ashley Albright, main role), was released in May 2006 and the next month A Prairie Home Companion (as Lola Johnson, supporting role). She appeared in Chapter 27 as Jude, a John Lennon fan, (main role). It began filming on January and had wrapped by March 2006. In July, 2007 Lohan withdrew from a scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote her starring role as a stripper in the film I Know Who Killed Me (as Aubrey Fleming / Dakota Moss, main role). On May 11, 2007, Georgia Rule (Rachel Wilcox, main role) was released in which Lohan starred alongside Felicity Huffman and Jane Fonda. Lohan began showcasing her singing talents through her films. For the Freaky Friday soundtrack, she sang the closing theme, Ultimate. She also recorded four songs for the Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen soundtrack. Lohan started her pop music career with the album, Speak, released in December 2004 peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. By early 2005, it was certified Platinum. Speak was introduced with the single Rumors, described by Rolling Stones as "a bass-heavy, angry club anthem". Its video reached number one on MTV's Total Request Live and was nominated for Best Pop Video at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards. Rumors eventually earned a Gold certification in America. In December 2005, her second album, A Little More Personal (Raw), debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified Gold on January 18, 2006. Though not as successful as Speak, it was certified gold by the RIAA on January 18, 2006 after debuting on the Billboard 200 at #20, while Speak went platinum after debuting at #4. In 2005, Lohan became the first living person to have a My Scene Goes Hollywood doll released by Mattel. Lohan was voted #10 on the list of 100 Sexiest Women by readers of FHM. Maxim placed her at #3 on its 2006 Hot 100 list. In 2007, Lohan was placed at #1 on the Maxim Hot 100. In the 2008 Spring Fashion edition of New York, Lohan re-created Marilyn Monroe's final photo shoot, known as the Last Sitting. Lohan was featured in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Bliss (UK), Blenda (Japan), etc. Lohan frequented various nightclubs and social events, sometimes being photographed with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.
